Romans 15:13
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Discipline of Spiritual Perseverance - Oswald Chambers
Be still, and know that I am God… —Psalm 46:10
Perseverance is more than endurance. It is endurance combined with absolute assurance and certainty that what we are looking for is going to happen. Perseverance means more than just hanging on, which may be only exposing our fear of letting go and falling. Perseverance is our supreme effort of refusing to believe that our hero is going to be conquered. Our greatest fear is not that we will be damned, but that somehow Jesus Christ will be defeated. Also, our fear is that the very things our Lord stood for— love, justice, forgiveness, and kindness among men— will not win out in the end and will represent an unattainable goal for us. Then there is the call to spiritual perseverance. A call not to hang on and do nothing, but to work deliberately, knowing with certainty that God will never be defeated.
If our hopes seem to be experiencing disappointment right now, it simply means that they are being purified. Every hope or dream of the human mind will be fulfilled if it is noble and of God. But one of the greatest stresses in life is the stress of waiting for God. He brings fulfillment, “because you have kept My command to persevere…” (Revelation 3:10).
Continue to persevere spiritually.

COVID-19 Crisis Prayer - Pastor Mike
Today's Prayer
Psalm 67
Today’s Subject: Our Church
God’s Way: Lord we lift our church up to You and ask You to watch over our church family during this pandemic. Pray that first and foremost God’s will would be done in each of our lives. Teach us individually and collectively the lessons that You would have us learn. Pray that in the absence of congregating together our hearts would be knit together tighter in God’s love for one another. Pray that we would be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit and obedient when we are lead to reach out to others within our church community. Pray that the enemy would not gain a foothold in anyone’s life and that we would not listen to his lies. Pray that we would all go deeper into our relationship with our Lord and we would hear His voice clearly. Pray against discouragement, depression and fear. Pray for God to extent His mercy and compassion on us all.
Pray for our Pastors as they adapt to their changing roles to meet the needs of our congregation. Pray for good health, strength, zeal and stamina as they face each new day and task. Pray for clear vision and the leading of the Holy Spirit. Pray for unity and meaningful fellowship with each other. Pray that they would not grow weary, discouraged or anxious during this time we we are in. Pray for their families as they support them. Pray that love, peace and joy would abound in their homes.
Pray for our worship leaders to be protected from illness. Pray for a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit for each member. Pray that as they lead in worship they would enter into a heart of worship. Pray that they would experience God’s presence and they would sing and play with the joy of the Lord.
Pray for each of the ministries of our church
Calvary Kids Club, Children’s Church, Jr. High and High School, Home Fellowships, Married’s, Men’s, Senior’s, Women’s, Young Adult’s, New Creation in Christ
Pray for the leaders of these ministries. Pray that they will find new ways to connect to their groups. Pray that they would be diligent to uphold their members in prayer. Pray there would be no loss of interest in these groups and that they would thrive when we all come back together.
God’s Salvation: Pray for anyone who has been attending Calvary Chapel but has not made a commitment to our Lord and Savior that this would be the time that they do so. Pray for those who have not been walking faithfully with the Lord that they would repent. Pray that God is honored in our lives and that we would be salt and light to our neighbors. Pray that we would have wisdom and boldness to testify to others of what God has done for us and will do for them.
God’s Praise: Praise God for the great love He has for His church. Praise Him for His abundant blessings upon our local body. Praise Him that He has given us the ability to enjoy our services online. Praise Him for the gifts and talent that He has provided in our church body. Praise Him for every single person that has made Calvary Chapel their home church. Praise Him for what He is doing through this pandemic. Praise Him that He is all powerful and when He says enough this will come to an end. Thank Him for His watch and care over us and praise Him that nothing can touch us that isn’t first sifted through His hand of love
“God be merciful to us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us, that Your Way may be known on earth, Your Salvation among the nations. Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You” Psalm 67: 1-3
